Joined to Jesus" is a 7 week creative Bible study (with book) that integrates truths from the book of Ephesians with reflective writing and art journaling to move truth from a cerebral level to a transformational heart experience. “Joined to Jesus” explores specific ways to live as an expression of Christ as we remember where we have come from with thankful hearts; yield, in humility and wonder, to the nearness of God; embrace the process of being made new; live from a place of approval and abundance; and stand as a victorious expression of Christ to the world. Art tutorial videos or in-person studio demonstrations supplement this study. Whether you consider yourself creative or not, you are a created child of God that can encounter Jesus through this study.

The Beautiful Exchange explores Christ’s invitations to abundance in a book study. Through six chapters and six corresponding art projects using mixed media in an art journal, we will embrace His Beautiful Exchange not only through Biblical study (mind) but with our spirits (heart) through journaling and art making. Students are invited to intentionally engage His abundance through:
- knowing ourselves in order to know Him; to venture into our interior and find Him. Light for darkness.
- feeling deeply the life He gave us to live and the loss that comes with it. Comfort for mourning.
- trusting Him as we wait in the middle during the confusing, in-between seasons. Confidence in His character for confusion.
- practicing a declaration of our freedom while we delight in and depend on Christ by stopping for twenty-four hours each week. Rest for weariness.
- recognizing our limits and surrendering to His limitlessness. Beauty for ashes.
As we accept these invitations, we put Christ in His rightful place and position our hearts to intentionally accept His beautiful exchange.

Art tutorials will walk you through the bookmaking process and demonstrate 6 different art projects to create within the pages of your book.
JESUS + ART EVENTS
We can come to your organization, church, or location of your choice, or you can come to our Ministry House and Art Studio (and have access to all our art supplies and space) for a studio session with a Biblical teaching and corresponding art project. We will learn, create, write, reflect, pray, worship, and immerse ourselves in beholding Jesus. Groups of 6-8 are the best size for our location. (See options below.)
Jesus + Art Studio Events (2-4 hours)
Gather 4 or more friends, choose your topic and your date and contact Alyssa to set up your Jesus + Art event. Fee covers our costs only (all supplies, teaching, and use of studio)--you are invited to partner with the Lord by giving a donation to further the work of our ministry. (Take home art supplies and books will be available for purchase at the event.)

Rehearse gratitude by mapping out the highs and lows of your life visually using a marbling technique, spray inks and pens. Discover His beauty and purpose in the pain as we examine Ephesians 2 and Psalm 103.
CONFIDENCE

What does it look like to trade my confusion for confidence in the character of Christ even when life isn't daisies and roses? How do I practically hear God's voice? Drawing from Habakkuk 2, we will explore how to trust God even in the unfinished middle seasons of our lives while creating mixed media art that visualizes what God speaks to us.
REST

What does delighting in the Lord, and Sabbath rest look like? We will delve into this topic, and explore how true rest allows us to find our identity apart from what we do. We will explore a story from Exodus 13 and 14 and then use inks, and envelope art to visually illustrate rest.
ABUNDANT

We have a choice to align ourselves with the abundant life of Christ or with a mentality of scarcity and powerlessness. Ephesians 3:17 instructs us to make Christ the very source of our life. We will examine our own thinking and use an image transfer technique to explore the truth that we are who He says we are and He is who He says He is.
IDENTITY: near

Discovering our God-given identity can be a wild journey. But when I position my heart in humility and wonder I find myself defined by experiencing Christ in intimate nearness. We will create a dream board collage to explore who God has made us to be while examining our heart posture of humility and wonder based on passages from Ephesians 2 and 3.
RENEWED

Recognizing and replacing lies with God's truth and revelation is essential to the process of transformation and renewal. We will use oil pastels, acrylics, and the sgraffito technique to uncover our misbeliefs and embrace God's truth based on Ephesians 4:23-24.
